Chris Aniszczyk
Chris is the technical lead for the Eclipse Plug-in Development Environment (PDE) project and Principal Consultant at Code 9. Chris tends to be all over the place inside the Eclipse community by committing on various Eclipse projects. He sits on the Eclipse Architecture Council and the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors. Chris’s passions are blogging, software advocacy, tooling and anything Eclipse. He’s always available to discuss open-source or Eclipse over a frosty beverage.
Aleksey Aristov
Aleksey Aristov works for WeigleWilczek GmbH as a chief software architect. With more then 10 years of professional software development experience he is a competent specialist in the field of enterprise software. Most of his last projects are combinations of J2EE architectures and Eclipse RCP based front-ends. Aleksey is a certified JBoss consultant, ACM member and one of the RCP Training Alliance trainers. In his spare time, he investigates possibilities of using markup languages for rich client development and leads RCML (Rich Client Markup Language) open source project.
Wayne Beaton
Wayne Beaton is employed by The Eclipse Foundation where he works as an evangelist, spreading the word and helping folks adopt Eclipse technologies. Wayne has extensive experience in object-oriented software development and is a strong proponent of refactoring, unit testing, and agile development methodologies.
Jean Bézivin
Jean Bézivin is professor of Computer Science at the University of Nantes, France. He has been very active in Europe in the object-oriented community, starting the ECOOP, TOOLS and MODELS series of conferences. His present research interests include model driven engineering, Domain Specific Languages and reverse engineering. He is a member of the ATLAS group, a new INRIA team created at the University of Nantes. He is involved in several EU projects (ModelWare, ModelPlex, etc.), co-chair of the ECOOP'2006 conference and program chair of the TOOLS'2007 conference.
Alexander Bieber
Already during his studies Alexander Bieber was working for the NightLabs GmbH since 2000. In September 2004 he successfully finished the studies of Microsystems technology. Since then he is manager of the NightLabs Consulting GmbH. His activities at NightLabs span from maintenance and further development of the Ipanema 1 client server system to contributions to several core modules of the JFire platform and in particular its Reporting modules.
Sven Efftinge
Sven Efftinge arbeitet als unabhängiger Berater, Coach und Softwareentwickler mit einem Fokus auf domänspezifische Modellierung,
Softwaredesign und Eclipse Technologien. Er ist Committer bei Eclipse.org und dort verantwortlich für Sprachfamilie
und den Kern von openArchitectureWare 4 so wie dem Xtext Framework. Weiterhin ist er Gründungsmitglied von applied-abstractions.com.
Erich Gamma
Erich Gamma is a Distinguished Engineer at IBM Rational Software's Zurich lab. He is one of the leaders of the Jazz project. He was the original lead of the Eclipse Java development environment (JDT) and is on the Project Management Committee for the Eclipse project. Erich is also a member of the Gang of Four, which is known for its classical book, Design Patterns - Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Erich has collaborated with Kent Beck on developing JUnit, the de facto standard testing tool for Java software, and on writing the book Contributing to Eclipse: Principles, Patterns, and Plug-ins.
Arno Haase
Arno Haase is an independent software architect based in Braunschweig.
In addition to consulting he makes sure to get his hands dirty on actual source code, both in client projects in open source. He is one of the founding editors of se-radio.net, the software engineering podcast. He is a regular speaker at international conferences, and he is author of lots of articles and patterns. He also co-authored books on JPA and model-driven software development.
Jochen Hiller
Jochen Hiller is working as systemarchitect for Deutsche Telekom. He is using object technology since 1989, using Smalltalk, C++ and Java. He is a regular conference speaker, talking about component based architectures based on Server-Side Eclipse and OSGi. He is also using Java in embedded and massively distributed systems.
Bernd Kolb
Bernd Kolb focuses on model-driven software development and eclipse technologies. As a consultant he worked in different domains from tooling for automotive embedded systems to enterprise Java applications. He is a regular speaker at conferences and has written a number of articles as well as co-authored a book. Jochen Krause
Jochen Krause has been involved with Eclipse since 2002 and is currently a member of the Eclipse Web Tools PMC. At Innoopract, a recognized specialist in Eclipse distribution and visual web application development tools, he is primarily responsible for strategy and product development. He has driven the adoption of Eclipse as the foundation of all of Innoopracts product offerings. By supporting Fortune 500 companies engaging with Eclipse technology he gained a broad understanding of the requirements and needs of the Eclipse enterprise market.
Martin Lippert
Martin is a consultant and coach at akquinet it-agile GmbH, a company located in Germany that is focused on agile software development. He received a master degree in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg and worked as intern as part of the AspectJ team at Xerox PARC back in '99. While he is helping teams to become more agile he also authored several articles on rich client and server-side development with Eclipse and Eclipse runtime technology for the german Eclipse magazine and investigated the combination of aspect and Eclipse technology. He is involved as a committer in the Equinox Incubator project.
Matthias Lübken
Dipl.-Inform. Matthias Lübken ist Softwareentwickler bei der akquinet agile GmbH in Hamburg. Er verfügt als Entwickler über mehrjährige Erfahrungen mit agilen Softwareprojekten (vor allem eXtreme Programming und XP). Darüber hinaus ist Koautor des Buchs „Eclipse – Die Plattform“.
Sebastian Meyen
Sebastian Meyen has been the Editor-in-Chief of the Java Magazin since its foundation in 1998 and of the Eclipse Magazin launched in 2004. In this way he is accompanying the Java Community as a jounalist almost from the start. Prior to his work at Software & Support Verlag he studied philosophy in Frankfurt. Since the first JAX and W-JAX he is responsible for the programme of the conference for Java, XML and Web Services.
Mike Milinkovich
Mike Milinkovich is Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation supporting the Eclipse open-source community and commercial ecosystem. Mike has been contributing to the technology industry for over twenty years. Most recently a vice president in Oracle’s Development Group, Mike led the Application Server Technical Services team, a group of highly technical experts who support Oracle’s application server strategic customers and partners. Prior to joining Oracle, Mike was with WebGain where he was Vice President of Worldwide Services and President of WebGain Canada. Other experiences include: The Object People which did world wide technology consulting and training; Object Technology International where he held various roles in software engineering, product management and business development; and IBM, where Mike was responsible for world wide product marketing of a major IBM software product line. Mike earned his Masters of Science degree in Information and Systems Sciences and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University. He lives in Ottawa, Canada.
Wolfgang Neuhaus
Wolfgang Neuhaus founded itemis together with Jens Wagener in 2003. Previously he was Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Brockhaus AG, and headed a team of about 80 software developers and consultants.
Wolfgang Neuhaus earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Dortmund in 1995. He has extensive practical experience in introducing and implementing Model Driven Software Development, which is his core focus. He is a well-known journal-published writer, an IT conference speaker, and is responsible for the company's technical vision.
Andrew Overholt
Andrew Overholt works for Red Hat in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He works on Eclipse-related projects in Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. His experiences with Fedora Eclipse led him to work with others to start the Linux Distros project at eclipse.org, of which he is now a project lead.
Benjamin Pasero
Benjamin Pasero is the developer of the opensource newsreader RSSOwl. He is well experienced in the Eclipse Rich Client Platform with a focus on SWT and JFace and has written a number of articles on this topic, as well as giving workshops at conferences. Gerald Preissler
Gerald Preissler is a member of the development team for the SOPERA platform since 2001. He is currently responsible for design and implementation of SOPERA's policy support and management components.
Kaloyan Raev
Kaloyan Raev is a software engineer at SAP. He works in the SAP NetWeaver Platform department. After several years working on the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, he now takes new challenges in synchronizing the Java EE toolset development of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio with the Eclipse WTP project.
Stefan Reichert
Stefan Reichert works as a software architect for Lufthansa Systems in Hamburg. He has numerous years of experience in developing distributed Java enterprise applications, service oriented architectures, Eclipse and Eclipse RCP. Stefan regularly writes articles for different magazines such as Eclipse Magazine and Java Magazine. He is also committer of several Open Source projects.
Michael Scharf
Michael is one of the architects of the Wind River Workbench, an Eclipse based IDE for embedded development supporting multiple programming languages and target connections. He is member of the Eclipse architecture council. Before working on the Wind River Workbench, Michael was responsible for the architecture of the SNiFF+ IDE for 10 years. Earlier in his career, he worked for 9 years in the area of computational molecular biology using object oriented technology for analysis and visualization of complex data.
Bastiaan Schönhage
Bastiaan Schönhage is Product Manager for Compuware's OptimalJ. Before that he was the development lead of the OptimalJ built on Eclipse project in Compuware. During his four years with Compuware, Bastiaan has been the lead developer for several OptimalJ development projects at the Amsterdam Development Lab. Before joining Compuware, he worked at Object Technology International (fully-owned subsidiary of IBM). At OTI he worked on a European Research (IST) project for component-based development in the embedded market (PECOS). Additionally, he was a main contributor to IBM/OTI’s MIDP implementation. Bastiaan is the recipient of both an MSc and a PhD from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. His PhD thesis, Architectural Perspectives on Information Visualization, examined how a well-chosen software architecture can help to resolve current limitations in (distributed) information visualization system such as the lack of multi-user support and the limited interaction with the underlying data.
Nuno Sebastiao
Nuno Sebastiao is responsible for the development of the Simulator Infrastructure at the Operations Centre of the European Space Agency, an intergovernamental organization whose mission is to develop Europe’s space activities. In this role Nuno has been heavily involved in the development of Simulation frameworks and Mission Simulator Development Environments. Before joining ESA, Nuno was founder and president of Oristeba, a space consulting startup company. Nuno started his career as a consultant with Andersen Consulting. Nuno earned his Masters of Computer Science degree in Information Systems from Coimbra University, Portugal. He lives in Darmstadt, Germany.
Ilya Shinkarenko
Ilya Shinkarenko is a software engineer by WeigleWilczek GmbH with focus on Eclipse and Java EE. He has developed and led numerous IT-Projects using Open-Source technologies. Ilya is also a trainer employed by RCP Training Alliance and has done about 10 full-blown Eclipse RCP trainings as well as one-day workshops focused on different Eclipse areas.
Eishay Smith
Eishay Smith is an Engineer and Researcher working in the IBM Almaden Research Center (US, California), and previously at the Haifa Research Lab (Israel). Eishay's topics of interest are server side applications, the Eclipse platform, and the Healthcare vertical.
In the last few years Eishay has been a commiter in the Eclipse Open Healthcare Framework (OHF), with a focus on taking the framework to the server side using OSGi/Server technology.
Tzanko Stefanov
Tzanko Stefanov is a Development Manager at SAP Labs Bulgaria. He is responsible for the Java EE design time support within the SAP NetWeaver platform. Tzanko has a solid background in Java Enterprise development and IT consulting.
Kai Tödter
Kai Tödter works in the software architecture department of Siemens Corporate Technology. He has 10 years of professional Java experience. His current interest is software architecture for smart clients, with special focus on Eclipse RCP. Kai was delegated by Siemens as "Technical Liaison Manager for Java" to the USA and he has represented Siemens in the Executive Committee for Java ME of the Java Community Process.
Markus Völter
Markus Völter arbeitet als freiberuflicher Berater für Softwaretechnologie und Engineering. Seine Schwerpunkte liegen dabei auf Architektur, Produktlinien sowie modellgetriebener Softwareentwicklung und DSLs. Gunnar Wagenknecht
Gunnar Wagenknecht is a software architect at Truition focusing on AJAX and Eclipse RCP user interfaces, usability and server applications. An Eclipse community fellow since 2001, he started Planet Eclipse and is a committer on the Platform UI R21 presentation component and contributed to a lot Eclipse projects including Platform Team, PDE, JDT, GEF, WebTools, DALI and Mylar.
Jason Weathersby
Jason Weathersby is the BIRT Evangelist at Actuate Corporation and a member of the Eclipse Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) Project Management Committee (PMC). Jason has over 15 years experience in the software development field, ranging from real time process control to business intelligence software. At Actuate, Jason is currently responsible for educating the Open Source community on BIRT and encouraging its adoption.
Tobias Widmer
Tobias Widmer obtained a master in computer science from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He is working at the IBM Zurich Labs as a Software Engineer and is an Eclipse Committer for the JDT UI project and the LTK Refactoring framework. He focuses on Java User Interfaces, Code Coverage tooling, Online Collaboration and Refactoring, regularly speaks at conferences and has published a number of articles about software development with Eclipse.
Stephan Wilczek
